About Abiding Grace...

Abiding Grace Community Church opened its doors on January 8, 2006, after nearly two years of praying and planning.  Abiding Grace is a body of multi-ethnic, multi-cultural believers gathered together in Christ, in celebration of both our ethnic and cultural differences.  It is only by the power of Christ that a fellowship such as ours can exist harmoniously... in unity and unconditional love.  We celebrate these differences in areas such as through the diversity of leadership and our different styles of music and worship.   We believe that God created all humans in His image and likeness and we choose to love each other through the differences, God says in His Word, "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." (John13:35).

WE BELIEVE

Our ministry philosophy centers on relationship:  The Father's relationship with man through Jesus Christ and man's relationship with man.  God created us to be in relationship with Him.  We exist for His glory, not the other way around.  Jesus Christ is the center of the Universe.  He is worthy of all our time and all of our attention.  We follow His leading in our daily experience.

OUR VISION

We recognize the amazing truth that we are in Jesus Christ, He is in us and we are in the Father (Abiding-John-15).  In believing this by faith, we choose to abide daily. Because of this relationship and communion we need not live a life of defeat, frustration and dissatisfaction; but a life of Joy that leads us to minister to each other out of our fullness in Him. Jesus promises to produce the results  (much fruit) as we rest in Him (John 14 &15).

OUR CORE VALUES

Love: Loving God and each other as Jesus Christ has loved us through acts of kindness, forgiveness and encouragement that support each other through the good and bad times in our lives (John 13:34-35, 15:13, Colossians 3:12-13).

Biblical Teaching: Teaching & studying together the inspired Word of God so that we may be equipped for His purposes (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12).

Community: Sharing together in life's celebrations and burdens (Romans 12:8-21, Acts 2:42-47).

Prayer: Continually drawing close to the Father and interceding for the blessings of His grace to others (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Multi-Culturalism: A fellowship that chooses to lovingly join together, in Christ, in celebration of our ethnic and cultural differences and is committed to walk in the reconciliation God has provided (Ephesians 2:14-16, Colossians 3:11, Revelations 5:9-10).

Worship: Celebrating what is true, honorable, right, excellent and worthy of praise and devotion to Jesus Christ. Pursuing after God in spirit and in truth (Philippians 4:10, Romans 12:1-2, John 4:24).

Discipleship: Following Jesus Christ together through relationships, Biblical truth, worship, service, outreach and all that Christ commands (2 Timothy 2:2, Colossians 1:18, Matthew 28:18-30).

Outreach: Meeting needs and reaching hearts while sharing the timeless message of God's grace with people in our everyday lives, our community and in the world (2 Corinthians 5:8-19, Acts 2:45).

The Church Name

Our name, Abiding Grace, means that we are in Jesus Christ and He lives in us.  Our desire is that we as a body would be maturing in our fullness in Him, that we would know Him and follow Him wherever He leads us.
